Church prayer bulletin

June 2008

Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.

Monthly prayer focus June is a month of great growth as summer arrives and we experience the longest days of the year. May it be a reminder that our spiritual growth continues only as we remain in the light of God’s love.

June 1

Kelstern has a candidate!

After almost two years without a pastor, the Kelstern Community Church has a pastoral candidate today. Pray that God will give the congregation and the candidate clear direction regarding this future ministry.

“Prime time” with the Glieges

Pray for Conference Minister Ralph and his wife Grace Gliege as they minister from Monday to Thursday at the “Prime Time Retreat” at Millar College at Pambrun. Pray that the Holy Spirit would use the teaching from Romans 8 to impress upon these seniors how beautiful life and death are when we understand that we are free from condemnation.

100 years of God’s goodness

Milestones in life cause us to reflect back upon God’s goodness. Family and friends at Hepburn are celebrating the 100th birthday of Mr. Cornie Voth who was born two years before the Hepburn MB Church came into existence! What a tribute to God’s goodness. Praise God!

Harvest Saskatchewan prayer

Pray for the Harvest Saskatchewan Team as they meet this coming Tuesday. Pray for wisdom and direction for this team as they help to shape our churches to become missional in making disciples and raising leaders.

June 15

SK Conference gets ready for harvest

Pray for the Provincial Executive Board as they meet on Wednesday. Pray for wisdom and courage for our Moderator, Ron Dyck, as he gives leadership. Pray especially for guidance as this board anticipates and prepares for possible future staffing to lead the Harvest Saskatchewan ministries. Praise God for many people moving to this province. The potential for a bountiful harvest truly is great!

Mennonite Trust @ Shekinah

Mennonite Trust has a great financial ministry to our congregations and to individuals. On Thursday the board and management meet at Shekinah Retreat Centre for their annual planning day. Give thanks to God for this ministry which helps us to be good managers and stewards of our finances. Pray for Ralph Gliege as he gives the motivational/devotional input for this day.

Martens/Borden team impacts the province for Christ

Pray for Pastor Tony and Michelle Martens and the congregation at Borden. Ministry for Tony and Michelle extends beyond the confines of the church and into the community as well as to Redberry Bible Camp and leadership on the Board of Faith and Life. Today Ralph and Grace Gliege have the opportunity to minister to the congregation. Pray for a good ministry of encouragement.

Prairie Winds in Africa

Prairie Winds Church in Moose Jaw is expanding their ministry as they commission one of their pastor–elders for missionary work in Tanzania with the Africa Inland Mission. Pray for David and Heather Hildebrandt as they hope to leave this week to serve as missionaries in Africa. Pray that God will provide for the leadership that they gave in the local church to visitation and senior ministries.

Arelee’s 100th anniversary wraps up today

Rejoice with the congregation at Arelee as they conclude their 100th anniversary celebration weekend today. Pray that God would give clear direction as to the future of this ministry. Thank God for his servants, Archie and Erna Jantzen, as they continue to minister so faithfully in this congregation and community.

Thank God for our youth pastors

Today Jason and Laura Unruh conclude their youth ministry at Parliament Community Church in Regina after serving for almost 8 years. Give thanks to God for his faithfulness in their lives and for their faithfulness to him.
