Church prayer bulletin
July 2008
Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.
Thank you for your prayer support!
Monthly prayer focusMany people take vacations in July. The Psalmist said: “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters” (Psalm 23:2). This month pray that our summer vacations will serve a “restful purpose”. |

We are “Gathering” in Montreal
Pray for travel safety as many people from Saskatchewan and across Canada travel to Montreal this week for the Canadian Mennonite Brethren “Gathering”. Pray for the Board of Faith and Life as they meet on Wednesday. The agenda is long and the time is short – pray for wisdom to make good decisions quickly and efficiently. The convention sessions run from Thursday evening to Saturday noon. Pray that this would be an inspiring and God honouring time.

MCC executive director transition
Praise God for the work of Mennonite Central Committee. Praise God for Bruno Baerg who has served so faithfully as executive director for MCC Saskatchewan for the past 12 years. Pray for him and his wife, Lois, as they go to Southern Africa to serve with MCC. Pray for God’s guidance in finding an executive director to replace Bruno.

Thankfulness and anticipation mix @ Waldheim MB
Today, as a part of their worship, the congregation at Waldheim MB Church gathers to give thanks for the past 17 years of pastoral ministry that Clarence and Ruth Peters have given. Pray for God’s direction for Clarence and Ruth who at present will continue to reside in Waldheim. Give thanks for their faithful ministry in the church and for the involvement Clarence continues to provide on the Provincial Board of Faith and Life. Pray that the Lord would soon provide a pastor for this congregation.

Celebration and sadness mix at West Portal
The Congregation at West Portal Church is thanking Dwayne and Irma Barkman today for 19 years of pastoral ministry. Pray for this congregation as there will be emotions of celebration for all that God has done during these years, but also emotions of sadness because of deep relationships formed over these years. Give thanks to God for Kelly and Sandie Wiebe who will serve as interim senior pastor.
