Church prayer bulletin

October 2008

Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.

Monthly prayer focus In a book entitled Growing Strong in the Seasons of Life Charles Swindoll refers to autumn as a season of reflection. As we reflect upon life, may our hearts be filled with thanksgiving to God for his mercy and goodness.

Gratitude for the Grimms

The congregation at Kelstern is truly grateful today not just for good crops and gardens but for God’s provision of a pastor after waiting for almost two years. Pray for Dion and Tammy Grimm and their four children as they are commissioned today.

Pastors retreat, regroup and recharge

This afternoon through Tuesday the Saskatchewan MB pastors gather for the annual Pastoral Retreat held at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp. Pray that this retreat will provide both physical and spiritual refreshment for the pastors and spouses. Please pray also for Len Bachiu as he serves as a resource speaker.

Come ye thankful people, come! May our voices of thanksgiving be raised to God in praise and prayer.

Milestone meeting for the Executive Board!

Pray for the Executive Board of the SK MB Conference as they meet in Saskatoon on Saturday. Pray for wisdom and guidance as they make final preparations for the Leadership Forum in November, the Provincial Convention in March and for the November 1, 2008 start of the ministry of Dwayne Barkman as director of Harvest Saskatchewan.

Recognition & honour for Jason & Karina Dyck!

Pray for Ralph and Grace Gliege as they minister in the Dalmeny Community Church today. The congregation at Dalmeny recognizes Jason and Karina Dyck today for five years of ministry. Give thanks to God for an excellent team of youth pastors throughout our province and praise the Lord for the longevity of ministry by these pastors.

Thanksgivings all around @ Blaine Lake

The congregation at Blaine Lake has experienced expansion of their building and congregation. Today they are gathering in thanksgiving to God. Pray for Ralph and Grace Gliege at this thanksgiving service. Rejoice and give thanks with this congregation for the great things God is doing in this community. Praise God for Pastor Gerry and Eleanor Epp who continue to serve so faithfully.

MCC AGM coming up in Regina

The Mennonite Central Committee Annual Meeting takes place in Regina on Friday and Saturday. Pray that this will be a God honouring event which will help MCC continue to do the work “In the Name of Christ”.
