Church prayer bulletin
November 2008
Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.
Thank you for your prayer support!
Monthly prayer focusFor the past several years our focus has been on developing a heartbeat for harvest. This month we ask you to pray that we will begin to focus more intentionally on beginning the process of spiritual harvesting. |

New roles and new adventures for the Barkmans
This weekend Dwayne and Irma Barkman begin new roles . . . Irma as part time Assistant Minister of Care at West Portal Church and Dwayne as the Director of Harvest Saskatchewan. We invite your prayers on behalf of the Barkmans. Pray for Dwayne as he guides us into a rich spiritual harvesting time in Saskatchewan.
Leaders impact culture
Please pray for the Leadership Forum to take place on November 15. Pray that the people who are attending from your church will be challenged to make an impact on culture rather than simply be impacted by culture. The goal of this forum is to help each congregation make a positive impact on their community.

Let the ReFocusing begin!
On Friday and Saturday Hope Fellowship Church begins a process known as “ReFocusing Your Church”. Pray for Dave Jackson from the Canadian MB Conference as he comes to lead this process which will happen over the next several months. Pray that this will be a very beneficial process for the church and a great start for the SK Conference. Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman as he observes and becomes “equipped” to help ReFocus other churches in our province.

Challenges & opportunities for Living Hope
Pray for the congregation at Living Hope Church as they gather tomorrow evening to discuss new opportunities and options for the future. For the past number of years Westmount Evangelical Church has met on Sunday mornings at Living Hope Church. Westmount has now moved to their new location which leaves a challenge of loss of rental income for Living Hope but also an opening up of Sunday morning availability.
Planning for study
On Saturday the planning team for the 2009 Canadian MB Study Conference meets in Winnipeg. This study conference on Christology/Kingdom will take place in Saskatoon in October, 2009. Director of Church Ministries Ralph Gliege is part of this team. Pray for wisdom and direction for this team as they put plans into place.

Big weekend for Bethany!
This Friday and Saturday the Bethany College Board of Directors meets for a fall working retreat. Pray for vision and direction as this board helps shape the future for the college. The SK MB Conference is happy to partner with Bethany College in helping to shape the lives of future leaders for our churches. Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman and Director of Church Ministries Ralph Gliege as they both give motivational presentations at this retreat.
Wynyard welcomes Wiebes
Praise the Lord for his provision of a pastor for the Wynyard Gospel Church – Steven and Shirley Wiebe are arriving this week and will begin ministry on December 1. Steve pastored at Pierceland from 1994 to 1999. Pray that this church will continue to make a significant impact for Christ in Wynyard. Praise the Lord for the congregations at Foam Lake, Lanigan and Watrous as they continue to give support to the congregation at Wynyard.
November 30
Advent adventure starts
Today is the beginning of the Advent Season. Pray that our hearts will be stirred to prepare and be prepared for the Second Advent of Christ. Philippians 4:5 gives instruction as to how we should live in view of Christ’s coming – “Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”
Refocusing continues @ Hope Fellowship
Pray for Hope Fellowship Church as they continue in the ReFocusing process this Friday and Saturday. As the leaders and congregation go through this, please pray that they will have a new and clearer focus for life and ministry.
