Church prayer bulletin
January 2009
Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.
Thank you for your prayer support!
Monthly prayer focusThe beginning of the new year is a great time to focus on things that we would like to see accomplished this year. How about beginning to pray for the salvation of one specific person in 2009? |
January 4
Prayer for pastors
Pray for pastors as they have the same needs and go through the same life experiences as the people in their congregations. Please pray for Pastor Greg and Carolyn Bright from Canora as they mourn the loss of Greg’s mother who passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve. Please also pray for Pastor Mike Housek from Beechy as he begins a six month Sabbatical . . . that it truly be a time of spiritual and physical refreshment and renewal.
Renewal @ MCC
Mennonite Central Committee is going through a re-visioning process to work at defining the task that God is calling MCC to in the 21st Century. Pray for a gathering taking place in Saskatoon on Saturday as a continuation of this process.
Refocusing @ Hope Fellowship continues
Please pray for the continued Refocusing process at Hope Fellowship Church in Saskatoon over the next few months. Include in your prayers the church, Dave Jackson the facilitator provided by the Canadian Conference of MB Churches, and Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman who is being mentored by Dave Jackson in the process.
January 11
Ralph & Grace Minister in Yorkton
Pray for our conference minister Ralph and his wife Grace Gliege as they minister at Parkland Community Church in Yorkton today. Pray for encouragement for this congregation as they contemplate beginning a pastoral search.
Planning for 2009
On Friday and Saturday the Executive, Executive Board and Council of Boards meet in Saskatoon. Pray for wisdom and discernment for these leaders as they give guidance and direction to the work of the conference and also as they make plans for the provincial convention taking place in March.

Provincial extension directors connect
Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman as he and provincial extension directors from other provinces connect on Wednesday. Pray that as these directors share ideas and coach each other in church planting processes, that they in turn will be able to better coach and support their own local churches more effectively.
Progress in Pierceland
Pray for Pastor Rob Kroeker in Pierceland as he seeks to pull together three leaders from their church to join a task force to guide the church’s future ministry re-start.
Matters of faith and life
Pray for Pastor Terry Froese and Director of Church Ministries Ralph Gliege as they attend national Board of Faith and Life meetings in Abbotsford on Friday and Saturday. Pray for courage and wisdom for this board to lead our conference with doctrinal integrity in matters of faith and life.
January 25
Retreat = refresh & recharge
Pray for Ralph Gliege and the other provincial Canadian conference ministers as they meet today for a retreat in Vancouver. Pray that each conference minister will be refreshed and recharged to continue the ministry in their respective provincial settings.
