Church prayer bulletin

August 2009

Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.

August 2

Pastor for Parliament!

Praise the Lord for the provision of a pastor of children for Parliament Community Church in Regina. Kristen Willems grew up as one of the children in the very church where she will now serve as the pastor of children. Pray for Kristen as she begins this ministry and makes preparations for the fall kick off.

August 9

Praise and prayer for Pastor Ken Epp

Pray for Pastor Ken and Mary Epp as Ken battles with cancer. Praise the Lord that he is receiving treatments at a great cancer clinic in Germany. Praise the Lord for his provision of a fine suite just a short walk from the clinic. Pray for their children in Indonesia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan . . . that they will have peace and an assurance of God’s love. Please also pray for the Main Centre congregation as they carry on in the absence of their pastor couple.

Preaching on parables @ Forest Grove

This Sunday, Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman will be speaking at Forest Grove Community Church in Saskatoon. Pray for clarity as he joins in the preaching series on the parables.

August 16

Pray for our camps

Pray for staff at both Redberry and West Bank Bible Camps as they enter the final week of summer camps. Pray for strength, joy, wisdom and a good conclusion to the summer camping season. Pray that God would transform the lives of many campers this week. West Bank has Youth Camp this week for 15–18 year olds, and Redberry is running an Adventure Camp for 10–12 year olds.

Living Hope remembers and looks forward

This Sunday marks the 4th anniversary of the passing away of Dwayne Harms who at the time of his death was pastor of Living Hope Church in Saskatoon. Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman as he helps the church honour the past, yet bring focus for the future.

August 23

Praise and prayer for Carrot River

Pray for the congregation at Carrot River. Praise the Lord for his provision of rented facilities during these years that the congregation has been without their own building. Pray for God’s continued provision and direction in regard to their future. This Sunday, Director of Church Ministries Ralph and his wife Grace Gliege will be ministering to this congregation. Pray for God’s blessing of encouragement and challenge through the spoken word.

August 30

Philadelphia pastor begins sabbatical

Praise the Lord for a growing congregation at Philadelphia MB church near Watrous. Pray for Pastor Darren and his wife Kandi Holland as they begin a four month sabbatical time of rest this week. Pray for physical and spiritual refreshment for them, and pray for God’s continued blessing on this congregation during this time while their pastor is away.
