Church prayer bulletin
September 2009
Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.

September 6
Winnipeg to Waldheim for Wiens family
Today the Waldheim MB Church commissions their new lead pastor couple, Greg and Heather Wiens. Pray that the community will experience the love of Jesus through Greg and Heather and through this congregation. Pray for a good adjustment for the Wiens family from life in Winnipeg to life in Waldheim. (At least both places start with “W”!)
Next steps for Pastor Epp
Pray for Pastor Ken Epp of Main Centre MB Church as he continues to undergo cancer treatments, now in Saskatoon. Praise the Lord for the excellent medical attention he received in Germany in July and August. Praise the Lord that Ken and Mary have felt the presence of the Lord and the support of praying friends. Pray also for the congregation at Main Centre as they carry on the ministry.
September 13
A day of double blessing!
Today Parliament Community Church in Regina commissions Kristen Willems as director of ministry to children, and then the same evening Prairie Winds Church in Moose Jaw commissions Doug and Carol Rempel as part time pastor/elder. Praise the Lord for his provision of these leaders from right within both of these congregations. Pray for God’s rich blessings on these ministries.
Sabbatical . . . speaking . . . sending
Pray for Pastor Darren Holland of Philadelphia MB Church (Watrous) as he spends time away on a sabbatical break this fall and for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman who will be speaking at the church on September 13 and 27 and then October 4. Pray also for the church as they send their people out to explore missional ministry in their community.
BFL on working retreat
Pray for the provincial Board of Faith and Life as they meet on Friday and Saturday for a working retreat. Pray for much wisdom and discernment for this board and give thanks for these people who volunteer their time and energy to serve in this capacity.
Meadow Lake starts Refocusing!
Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne and his wife Irma Barkman as they train a Refocusing Team of leaders at the first Personal Refocusing Retreat being held for Northwest Community Church (Meadow Lake) on September 18–19.
September 20
Time to refuel and recharge
The provincial Pastoral Retreat begins in just two weeks. Pray for Paul Woodburn as prepares to speak at this retreat from the Gospel of John. Pray that no circumstances will arise that might prevent pastors and spouses from attending the retreat.
Leaders trek to Church Planting Congress
During the week of November 17–20 the Church Planting Canada Congress will be meeting in Calgary. Pray for the fifteen leaders from a variety of Saskatchewan MB churches who will be there. Pray for an inspiration for making disciples and figuring out effective ways of reaching our communities for Christ.
September 27
Wynyard prayers
The SK MB Conference continues to give support to the ministry of the Wynyard Gospel Church. Please pray for their pastor couple Steve and Shirley Wiebe. Today Director of Church Ministries Ralph and his wife Grace Gliege will participate in the dedication of the Wiebes’ son, Nicholas. Steve and Ralph will be “co-preaching” today on the third topic in a message series Steve has been preaching entitled “Belong, Believe, Become”. Pray that we will all become the people that God so much wants us to be.
Provincial executive gathers
The SK MB Conference Executive Board meets on Friday. Pray for our Moderator Ron Dyck, that he will have wisdom and joy in leading this board.
