Church prayer bulletin
February 2010
Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.
Thank you for your prayer support!
Monthly prayer focusThis month pray for our hearts to be filled with love for each other and for those who still need to experience the love of Christ. Pray that our “labour will be prompted by love” (1 Thessalonians 1:3). |

Meadow Lake bringing it into focus
Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne and his wife Irma Barkman as they work alongside Northwest Community Church in Meadow Lake while they engage the ReFocusing process. Pray for this church as they continue to discern their next steps after spending last weekend looking over their journey as a church since 1938. Pray that as they explore their missional values and direction, they would clearly discern God’s heart for their future.
Moderators have a Pod too!
Pray for Howie Wall as he continues to lead the first Moderator’s Pod in Saskatchewan. Pray for the inspiration of our church moderators to lead with courage and missional hearts.
Haiti . . .
Continue to pray for the great variety of needs in Haiti as a result of the recent earthquake. Give thanks for the great outpouring of generosity. Pray for the protection of relief workers and give thanks for organizations such as Mennonite Central Committee in their work of coordinating many relief efforts.

It’s Valentine’s Day!
On this Valentine’s Day, pray for a renewed love for the Lord, a genuine spirit of love for each other, a caring love for the hurting, and a compelling desire to demonstrate and share God’s love with those around us.
Next steps for Herbert MB
Pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne and his wife Irma Barkman as they continue to work with the ReFocusing process with Herbert MB Church this month. Pray for this church family as they continue to reflect on their personal refocusing and now look ahead to discern the next steps in their journey as a church. Pray that as they explore their church story, missional values, and ministry direction they would clearly hear God’s heart for their future.

Pray for much wisdom and clear guidance for this board to follow God’s direction in making right decisions. Pray for each board member: Greg Bright, Terry Froese, Ben Kramer, and Kim Pratt. Ralph Gliege, Director of Church Ministries, gives leadership to this board.
Thanksgiving and prayer for Wayne & Helen Harms
During this last week of February, pray for Wayne and Helen Harms who have sold their home and are moving to Abbotsford, BC. Wayne has served on provincial conference boards for many years, and most recently with the Harvest Saskatchewan Team. Pray for safety as they move at the end of the month and for finding another house, a new church and new friends. Thank you Wayne and Helen for your many years of ministry here.
February 28
SK Conference convention on the horizon!
Final preparations for the provincial Mennonite Brethren convention will take place this week. Pray for the host congregation at Northwest Community Church in Meadow Lake. Pray that God would be pleased to give good weather and travel safety. Please also pray for a spirit of joy, unity and anticipation throughout the convention. Pray that those in attendance will be encouraged as they hear stories from individuals and churches that have “Overcome Harvest Hardships”.
Taking the tangible kingdom personally
Pray for Pastor Brian Wiens (Parliament Community Church, Regina) as he continues to give leadership to the Pod studying the book The Tangible Kingdom. This Pod of seven leaders will be meeting for the third time on March 11. Pray for a clear understanding of how to apply this material in personal outreach for each leader.
