Church prayer bulletin

March 2010

Please place the following weekly prayer requests in your church bulletins on the designated Sunday, and if possible pray about the need during that same service. We also encourage the entire church to follow the weekly pastor/church prayer schedule of the senior pastor.

Monthly prayer focus During this season of Lent, pray that our hearts will be filled with the compassion and passion of our Lord to the point where no price is too great for the sake of the harvest.

March 7

Praise and celebration in Foam Lake!

Praise the Lord for His provision of a pastor at Gospel Fellowship Church in Foam Lake. Pray for Pastor Manfred and his wife Beth Koehler who are being commissioned today. Pray for a joyful and fruitful ministry in this community.

In pursuit of the tangible kingdom

Pray for Pastor Brian Wiens from Parliament Community Church in Regina and Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne Barkman as they lead two Pods of leaders in Saskatoon March 11 working through the book The Tangible Kingdom. Pray that these leaders would understand what shifts need to be made in the church to reach our culture for Christ.

March 14

Post-convention action

On this first day after the provincial MB convention pray that congregations will be determined to overcome harvest hardships and with God’s help will not become weary in doing good so that at the proper time a harvest will be reaped (Galatians 6:9). Praise the Lord for the congregation at Northwest Community Church in Meadow Lake who served as excellent hosts for this convention. Pray for Howie Wall on March 18, as he leads a Pod of moderators in understanding moderator relationships with board leaders and how to move forward with strategic planning and vision.

March 21

Letting the Spirit have his way with us

Praise the Lord for the spring time! Pray that all the cold and dark things of winter that might be in our hearts would give way to the new life of spring. Please pray that we would not resist the promptings of the Holy Spirit to melt away those things that bring coldness to our hearts and to the life of the local church.

Building the team

Pray with the Harvest Saskatchewan Team in finding new team members to focus the area of helping churches with missional initiatives and church planting. Pray for clarity as this team works on policy that will empower and support churches to move forward with courage and confidence.

March 28

Trusting the Lord for a pastor

On this Palm Sunday pray that our hearts would be filled with genuine “Hosannas” to the Lord. Pray for the congregation at Woodrow as they continue to trust the Lord for the provision of a pastor. As Director of Church Ministries Ralph and his wife Grace Gliege minister there today, pray for a great time of spiritual encouragement.

Barkmans @ Bridgeway

Please pray for Director of Harvest Saskatchewan Dwayne and his wife Irma Barkman as they minister at Bridgeway Community Church in Swift Current this weekend.
